And I'll be in a good mood starting this month because my debt (yep, literally) to that one annoying person is finally settled and that person could stop annoying me with the reminders as if I don't know the due. If only that person had delivered the goods as satisfactory to me as that person has promised, I'd have no problem paying sooner. But with the kind of crappy quality presented to me, how could you have the face to ask for payment every other day? Huh??! How could YOU?!

I deliberately stalled the payments as I want you to feel the anxiety and the sakit hati I endured because of your doing.

SeesHH! I curse the day I shake in agreement with you. TUih!!

Lost and Found

I seem to have lost my interest in blogging for the past few months. I really had no time to spare. And of course, it's because I had nothing interesting to talk about :P. And also my dear Canon needs to be repaired. And I have no mood to post anything without any proper picture and as you might be aware, pictures has been absent from my latest posts.

Well, what's the use of pictures if it has no connection whatsoever to the gist of the story I'm telling, right? :P

Anyway, I seem to have regained my writing passion, so I might be writing more often than not this month. I used to write everyday but I dunno, I just lost the steam, I guess..

Bos oh Bos

I have been having a mixed feeling about the people i call my superiors.

When I was in my previous office, I had a superior who we will call as S who is very unpredictable yet I can most of the time always tackle S work-wise. S is a fussy person and i think I'm not exaggerating when I say that she can be called a bully. Once she found a target, S would go on and on about the person and even to the point of driving the target to their maximum level of stress.

I never had any of that experience of being bullied with S because I always give S a poker face and that might have caused S' disinterest in bullying me. Haha. I even at one time drove S to the wall and caused S to shed a tear, so said S' personal assistant..I can never know for sure because I never saw that actually happening with my own eyes. Besides, she has had a bad day that day so I think everything were just out of her control that she broke down. Sorry Bos..

Anyway, S was stingy with marks when the time comes to evaluate the employees. S might be suffering from a favouritism syndrome and as expected, there'd be people with high flying marks (and I am not saying they don't deserve that because they are doing their job as well).

But there'd be people - honest people - who worked their a$$ off, only to be given a below average evaluation mark. That person might have done something not in S' favor but hey, as long as the work is done accordingly and satisfactorily within the bounding laws in this country, why not award that person with the mark they rightfully deserve? There's no use in sabotaging one's career. What goes around will come around.

Aaaaanyway, I never got below 80 marks with her so that's a blessing. Although I never got more than 90, it's OK as long as I know I have done my job :). It might have been the poker face, I dunno .. hehe

My current bos (J) was quite scary haha. For the few early months, my weekday mornings was filled with thuds of my heart as if it's trying to get out of my chest and I always had that dreadful feeling of "OMG...my bos will be in the office today..who will J pounce upon today.."

But it's been a year of me working under J's wings and although I find J quite hard to please (J's a perfectionist and expects the best out of everybody), with time, I learnt to keep up with the pace and the dreadful mornings has gone..along with the thumping heart ;p.

The only problem is, the subordinates who are not willing to step up. They're rather content, lagging behind and that's quite stressful - carrying the weight of the job and also trying to drag them along hoping they'd wake up and work themselves up.

Sometimes I just think these people are just too comfortable in their little shells and will do anything to protect that. It's either they don't know anything of how the working world is headed to the fast lane, or they are just too ignorant to even bother about it.

It's January and the time has come for the annual evaluation. I've submitted mine to the boss. Any time now. How much will I get this time around? If my LNPK (evaluation for my promotion) is anything to go by, well, I think it'd be a nice evaluation with a 9 in the front integer :D

My hair is growing so fast that it's now reaching the cracks of my butt. Kekeke.. I really need to get a good hair cut ASAP! I have not been to a barber let alone a saloon in about..a year?! whoa..seriously??

Come to think of it, yes, that IS true! I haven't been to a barber since I got transferred to Kch January of last year and since then I have not given my hair a cut which it desperately needs. The split ends has been partying all year long but I think I'm going to have to stop that this weekend. You just wait.

My head's getting heavier with the hair made in a big bun every working day. Headache..headache. All the more reason for me to get it cut this weekend!

Been sooo moody lately. The Water Dragon may be auspicious and will bring good luck to many people but I think the Dog will suffer during the first few months. I get upset over the smallest things and some of my colleages at the office had been the victim of my mood swings.

Everything seem so irritable and I just want to lash out at someone and make them suffer. So badly.

But i still have a grip, a loose one at that over my temperament. And so far, I've apologized to those I might have lashed out at. They were just around me at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Anyway, i think the last year's stress has started to take it's toll on me. I've been patient for so long and i took people's bull*hit at work and make it right for them. But you can't go on testing one's patience and continuously drive them off the wall because a person can only take so much and then kaBOOM! they explode.

*deep breath in... and out...*

OK OK...I must remember to eat some ice cream this evening to calm me down...oopsss....

Today is a working day after a 4-long-days of CNY holiday :)

It's been a gloomy and overcast CNY with rain falling in the evening throughout the night. Maybe it's weeping for the loss of a Form 6 girl who was found on the eve of CNY. Finally, a closure to the bereaved family and a closure to her as well.

I heard from my sister in law that the girl enters a woman's dream to tell her whereabouts. But with a flowing river, you never know where's the body at the moment.

ON CNY eve, her body was found nearly out the open sea and quite far from her drowning site. The site has never been flooded before but mother nature has her own way of doing things, don't you think so?

May her soul Rest In Peace and may her remain's discovery bring some kind of comfort to her mother.

This week has been a happy week.

First, ging Renny gave birth to her son and today I got a news that my bestie Mel is 5 weeks pregnant!

Secondly, my bestie Mel tested positive when she bought this home pregnancy test! And a visit to the doctor confirmed she's 5 weeks pregnant!

Phew, that's a pressure :p. No lah.. No pressure there *pening kepala trus* hehe..

And now she's pressing for me to go and get myself checked up and she wants the result today. Haha. Adui mel mel..

If my result turns to be negative, then I've got to give a massage a try.

anyway, congratulations to my girls and pray for me!

Congratulations ging!!! I am soooo happpy for you and Mike :D

I hope I'll be able to visit you during your confinement to see your bundle of joy.

I read this on a FB friend's wall and can't help but post it here for you to ponder upon.

Moral of the story : don't be so ignorant as to condemn people just because they don't comply with the current social norms/ethics watsoever.

THE ORIGINAL BLOG ENTRY:

Anyone over the age of 35 should read this, as I copied this from a friends status..

Checking out at the supermarket recently, the young cashier suggested I should bring my own bags because plastic bags weren't good for the environment. I apologized and explained, "We didn't have this green thing back in my earlier days".

The clerk responded, "That's our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment for future generations".

She was right about one thing–our generation didn't have the green thing in "Our" day. So what did we have back then? After some reflection and soul-searching on "Our" day, here's what I remembered we did have….

Back then, we returned milk bottles, pop bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles repeatedly. So they really were recycled. But we didn't have the green thing back in our day.

We walked up stairs, because we didn't have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn't climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks. But she was right. We didn't have the green thing in our day.

Back then, we washed the baby's nappies because we didn't have the throw-away kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy gobbling machine burning up 240 volts — wind and solar power really did dry our clothes back in our early days. Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing. But that young lady is right. We didn't have the green thing back in our day.

Back then, we had one TV, or radio, in the house — not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of Wales. In the kitchen, we blended & stirred by hand because we didn't have electric machines to do everything for us. When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used wadded up old newspapers to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap.

Back then, we didn't fire up an engine and burn petrol just to cut the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power. We exercised by working so we didn't need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity. But she's right. We didn't have the green thing back then.

We drank from a water fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water. We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull. But we didn't have the green thing back then.

Back then, people took the bus, and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their mums into a 24-hour taxi service. We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn't need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 2,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest pizza joint.

But isn't it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didn't have the green thing back then?

Year End BBQ

Whoa...looking at my list of posts, it's been quite a while since I wrote a proper entry. It's been quite hectic, and being in the Human Resource and Finance unit doesn't help at all.

Last year I went back to KK for Christmas with Mr J. Was wondering what to do on Christmas since we won't be going back to our hometown that year because of the rainy season that was bound to be followed by landslides along the KK-Ranau road.

So after attending Christmas Eve mass in an overcrowded Sacred Heart Cathedral, on Christmas Morning after unwrapping of gifts session, we headed to Tanjung Aru beach for a BBQ-picnic.

It was a beautiful day out and we spent the day just lazying around until after 4 pm. We had chicken wings (MrJ's) recipe and some hot dogs, prawns (sis Evon's recipe) and BBQ eggplants.

My mum prepared fried bee hoon and I prepared egg sandwich. After loading all those neccessities (heheh) and a pack of newly bought poker cards, off we went to the beach.

We got ourselves a perfect spot at the beach and spend the morning BBQ-ing. Stopped for lunch and some (noisy) rounds of card games before MrJ and my brothers and sister went swimming (or fighting the wave, I might say).

It was a day well spent with my little sister complaining of sun-burnt skin. Hoho..We only head home after the first raindrop falls over the beach.

We will definitely do this BBQ again :)..Manukan?

Trace's big day project

My bestie tracy's wedding is on the 14 of January. *Excited*

Mel and I have come up with a door gift idea for the guests for her reception.

It's an inspirational quotes put inside a bottle for the guests to enjoy.

I have finished designing and printing the quotes and Mel has been experimenting with the final product in KK. It's a long distance kind of collaboration haha. Me in Kch and her in KK. Well, that's when emails and MMSes come in handy :)

I'll be starting my leave on the 12th (*can't wait!) and Mel and I will be burning the midnight candle at Mel's place to finish the gift for her 430 guests (if her husband let me be the third wheel or else we'll have to camp out at McD Api-api hoho)

Here's a sample (not the final product) of mel's creation. She's been experimenting with the idea.

Can't wait for the 12th!

P/s guess what? My boss asked me to do an official visit in KK on the 16-17 january so that means I'll be extending my stay until the 18th! Weeee

2011 - the journey

there's just so many sweet things to remember.

1. I got transferred (finally) to be near my MrJ

2. I got to explore Sarawak.

3. I went to Bintulu for the first time.

4. I went to Kapit for the first time (via air and river) and bought a pretty beaded purse for more than half the price sold in Miri :) - A cute town in the middle of a hilly area. From what i heard, there's no proper roads into the town except for jalan balak. But the government is halfway through building roads connecting Sibu, Kanowit and Kapit. So, it would be more accesible but not as exciting as taking the express to ferry you from Sibu. It's quite an experience, having the express swaying from the current and the frequent

5. I went to Miri for the second time :). The first one attending Janet's wedding

6. I went to Mukah. Also my first visit. I find it very organized but not much activity to do.

7. I went to Limbang. Surprisingly, the language is more like a Sabahan than a Sarawakian..the perks of living at the border, don't you think?

8. I went to Sibu. For the second time I think. The first one during an official visit with my previous workplace.

2011..ANOTHER YEAR PASSED BY and a new year looms ahead ... 2012, here I come!

Pasal attitude.. The I'm-busier-than-you or I'm entitled-to-cut-lines or even the kiasu attitude.

Just look at the picture. It's parked right in the midst of a two lane road in a busy section of town. The driver could've been more considerate and park it more appropriately at quite a distance, but noo, he/she had to park right in front of the police station even though he/she knew he/she's bound to slow the traffic down. Nasip la ble muat juga kerita mau limpas..

Double Birthday celebration

I ordered a cake from the usual baker - Mdm Tisya of simplychantiques.com for my sister's (31st dec) 21st Bday that we celebrated earlier a day after Christmas.

I ordered a key shaped cake but Mdm Tisya couldn't find the cake mould so she shaped it into a round cake with a Key edible image with a bit of Christmas touch.

I ordered a moist chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and buttercream decoration along with a message (more like a warning :p) that reads :

'Happy 21st! U finally got urself the KEY!! But Mom still got the ropes on u..;p.

Keboringan tunggu flight

We are at Miri's airport waiting to board the connecting flight to limbang in about 2minutes.

These couple of weeks has been so hectic..last week we went to kapit from tuesday to friday and family day on saturday to sunday.

Went to office yesterday to finish some work that had been piling up since last week.

And then today woke up at 430am to catch the 7am flight to miri.

We're supposed to be in limbang until friday but the boss called for a meeting in miri this Thursday so after giving my talk, we'll rush back to miri for our skt meeting.

Hujung tahun macam ni mangkali.

Yang penting I want to finish my work before christmas!!!

Ombak Rindu

Phew!

just finished watching Ombak Rindu - the first Malay Novel I ever read and immidiately got hooked when I was a student in UPM.

Did I like it?

NO.

I LOVED IT!!

Of course la there's some slack here and there, *ehem* bahasa baku *ehem..but I refuse to focus on the slacks because I think it was as good as a movie adaptation can get.

Went to the cinema (next to my office building) as soon as the clock strikes 11.45am. LUNCH HOUR = OMBAK RINDU appointment with two of my colleagues. My MrJ is totally against watching Malay Movies in the cinema. He's more of an Adam Sandler and LOTR kind.

Despite the rushing and queueing for the ticket, we lost just 12 minutes of the beginning of the movie which started at 12pm.

When I saw Lisa as Mila, I was a little apprehensive in the beginning. i didn't quite like her in LBS. But, in Ombak Rindu, I was taken by a delightful surprise. She was actually good, if not better than her previoous movies. And she did manage to cause me fighting with little lumps in my throat.

And Maya Karin...as usual, never a let down :). I just loved her. Her tears comes as easy as she talks and she was so kesian when Haris pushed her bullying her around.

Aaron's acting was superb. Just one thing, he looks oldER when he's with Lisa. I dunno, maybe it's because Lisa has that teenager-ish kind of face that no matter how she tries to dress up as a matured woman, she ends up looking just like a teenager when she's next to him. That aside, he managed to evoke the right emotions (many times) from the audiences.

Oh, did I mention that about 99% of the audiences are female? I reserve the 1% to the guys accompanying their gfs and those i missed in the sea of XX. Hehe.

I was sitting at the end of a row of seats, and the girl sitting on my left (the end of another row of seats) was crying and wiping her tears with her tudung. I had some occasional lump in the throat but didn't reach the cry-me-a-river stage..;p

I would have liked the phase where Haris hated Izzah to be longer, but this movie is the adaptation of 3 books so trying to squeeze it in a 2 hours movie would have been next to impossible.

I can safely say you'd like it at least 80% as much as I had ekekeke...

Why 80%? Because with a Malay Movie, you can always expect to get some 'urmm..' moments from the Mengapakah aku diseksa sebegini? kind of cheesy lines, but not as bad as the Sembilu era la..ekeke..and also from the lady from Spa-Q who's (botox-ed?) lips are just as ridiculous as seeing her as a Datuk. Aduduiii...

OK la..you just go and see for yourself. I don't regret spending my RM10 for it :)

Dream house

I still have a blurry image of how I'd like my dream house to be.

But it has to have a patio or veranda that surrounds the house where the family would spend the evening lounging outside, sipping hot drinks and some goreng pisang..blisss.. Eheheh

Anyway, I haven't started building our house in my kampung. Too many commitments at the moment. I was hoping my sis could help with the financial hehehe..

I don't want to loan money from the bank to do it. I'd prefer to use my savings (when I finally get around to it) and do it stage by stage.

And I definitely want a fireplace where we could heat ourselves during a cold rainy December...another bliss..

Well, I'll just have to do some savings from now, won't I? Sitting around talking about will not get anything done hehe..

I miss this gals. And I miss backpacking with them.

These pictures are taken in 2009 (I think) at Eagle Ranch Negeri Sembilan.

Took the train and bus and taxi to get there. We had no idea what route to take except for the train but we managed to reach the quite secluded place in one piece :).

But that was the first and last backpacking we did because Janet got transferred and well, it was not as fun without one of us.

Hm...I missed those time. And I miss being as thin as this hohoo.

Mission : gym visit (and working out) as much as I can!

Sometimes I spend too much time thinking. Blame the loong weekend. Especially weekends with an extra holiday on a Monday.

I think about lots of things. But I think about my family most. They somehow always linger at the back of my head. The hundreds km distance is nothing. And I could even bully my brother even without me actually being present. The power of HP. Thanks to my HP, they're just an sms away :).

Sometimes I can't help but wonder about the What Ifs in life. Especially when it revolves around my Dad. It's been 14 years since he's gone but I can still remember his face clearly and how he pujuk me when I merajuk with my Mum.

And I definitely can remember and feel what was it like at home pacing when I heard he was admitted to the hospital during a Saturday site visit. I still have the urge to cry and get lumps in my throat every time I think of him. And I sometimes get dreams about my dad. Still looks the same - in his 40s and always giving me the smile I remember.

I know it's not healthy to live by the past. But it's the one thing I'm not willing to let go. I regret that my siblings didn't get to know what a wonderful man he was. And they didn't get to experience the great length he would go to make you happy. And they didn't get to experience the euphoria when you passed an examination and he would be sooo happy for you.

I had a first hand experience of all those and they just had to take my word for it.

And now I want my memories of my father in something more concrete. His car. It has been in a state of irreparablity for several years but I am determined to get it fixed.

It's a big project and may include lots of money but I am willing to forgo all of the other things just to see it on the road again. I will cut my other expenses just to get it done.

Period.

Matlan Marjan

The Malaysian football especially the sabahan's support died when Matlan was banished to Semporna.

You can google him and you'll know the deal.
But this much I'll tell you : he scored 2 goals against a full-bodied England team in 1994.

Having heard about his story in this month's Esquire Magazine, I immediately looked for it in Kch's bookstore. None.

So I asked my sister to get me one and have it shipped to Kch. Thankfully MrJ's cousin is bound for Kch from KK the next day, so wa-La, I managed to get my hands on it today. Yeah!

Yep, I am that much of a fan of the then player of sabah rhinos along with scott ollerenshaw, chua boon fui, suharmin, burhan ajui, seslija milomir, vaselin kovacevic to quote a few. But the rhinos were in the best shape during the 90's - 94's.

I only read the sport and entertainment section of Daily Express back then. I was so proud of the team and always looks forward to read about them every day.

The story about them usually take up about 2-3 page and nobody bothers about the EPL or what not back then. It was because the fans can get all the action with the sabah Rhinos :)

Now, I can't even name a single player.

I hope with the inclusion of Brendan gan (a msian-australian mixed import player) will do some magic to revive the team..

But for now, let's just read Matlan's side of story after about 20years living being banned from playing any tournament organized by FiFA..

It's such a great loss to the football scene..

Bought this book yesterday in MPH. I bought along a pink bungee bookmark. Love it!

Haven't had time to start on it yet but I'm already getting excited about it :)

We made a pit stop in Sibu for our journey back to Kch from Mukah.

Dinner was at Roy's corner in Kg Hilir.

The menu was of the ordinary but there was some like Tomok and Tomok special. I dunno what the heck is that and how would you cook a Tomok. Hehe

I had a Singapore Bihun Goreng. My colleague had nasi goreng ayam special, chicken chop, nasi ayam special and kuey teow special. We also had some side dish - rojak with kuah kacang/sate, ayam panggang which was so succulent I had like 5 ketuls along with my bihun and ikan goreng.

It was a Malay gerai, and yet there were more Chinese having their dinner than Malays.

Anyway, I recommend the place for you to try if you happen to be in Sibu :)

Mukah

I was at Mukah for the first time for an official program from the 16th - 17th Nov. Will be flying back to Kch on the 18th.

From what I observed, Mukah was an organized town. I think because it can be considered as a new town so it was planned from the tiniest detail to the state admin building.

I think the Malay bridal house in Kch is getting more creative nowadays..

The designs are getting more modern and contemporary. I think some of them are even on equal par as their Peninsula's counterpart or even the Indonesian for that matter.

I attended a colleague's brother wedding on Friday and I was in awe as I entered the Islamic centre. It was so beautifully decorated as you can see in these pictures.

I like event managing. And I just might venture into the business somewhere in the future. Who knows :)

God knows better and I'll just wait to see what will transpire.

Rainy saturday

Had a wonderful Deepavali and went visiting open houses yesterday. 6 houses in all. Got so full eating curry but mostly campur2 and a whole lot of carbonated drinks. Whoa!

Amy re-did the kolam on the second day of Deepavali because the first one was destroyed by the dog and also by the Deepavali poster that came out of the wall, straight on top of the kolam.

The kolam was made from kelapa parut/purut? (Grated coconut - not the coconut, but the white inside it hehe) unlike the traditional coloured rice. To save cost, but also to venture into new material.

And the coconut was lighter than the rice so naturally it didn't last too long when the thing falls on top of it.

The new one is quite similar with the first one. It's just quite smaller and simpler. But it's just as beautiful as the first one :)

Amy's one talented gal. No wonder she's taking over Sheela's job as the kolum decorator.

It's raining today. Will just stay at home, except for a trip to the ATM and Cosway and maybe Guardian.

Happy Deepavali 2011

This is the first Deepavali I have in Kch. Last year I was just a visitor from Ptjya.

I got join MrJ's cousin and sis baking cookies and cakes. I got to clean the house too :)

On Deepavali eve night, the family offered prayers to the ancestors and had dinner on a banana leaf.

When the clock strikes 12am, the family lights up the fireworks and to mark the beginning of Deepavali.

Woke up at 6.30am today, on Deepavali to cut up vegetables for the guests arriving starting 10am onwards.

So today's going to be a busy day.

Happy Deepavali to all my family, friends especially to Deepa :)

This is a daily occurrence in Kch near my in laws house - motorists taking up 2-3 parking spaces for their car.

It doesn't matter if you just need to get out of the car for a couple of minutes but it's still inconsiderate. Cars are passing by every second and what some motorists like the car in the pics that took up 3 spaces do is just plain annoying.

How ignorant some people can be. Pfftff!

John Grisham's latest release i.e his second book in this Boone series is out! Noticed it at the airport bookstore last Tuesday and i was tempted to buy it. But it was in hard cover so, I'll have to wait for the paperback release before getting a copy.

It's supposed to aim the children's market but I can't help buying it for myself. It's no too heavy and could engage you as good as the other of his books.

Can't come up with a title any catch-ier than that heee.

Trace, Mell and Sherlye has been my oldest buddies. Oldest. Yes. In that order..heehee. Trace was born in February, Mell in May and Sherlye in September. I'm a December baby hoo, so that makes perfect sense, right? heheh

This year, we celebrated our 16th year. Friends come and go, but we stayed together despite the long distances from one another. well, in KK, we live 5 minutes from each other (except for Sherlye who lives like 15minutes from us ;p), but with the busy schedule (cewah..busy kenen), it feels like we're kilometeres apart..kekeke

I've said before that marriege-wise, i got married first, then Sherlye. Mell will be married next month and Trace is busy with her pre-wedding shoot. In KUNDASANG! I sooo want to get a photo shoot there :(..bawa tripod ja la sia...:D. So the youngest got married first, the eldest got married last :)

On my last visit to KK this month, Mr Jeevs and I brought my lil sister to watch three musketeers after visiting my grandma at my aunt's house.

We went to 1Borneo and my little sister asked if she could buy a pacifier-like sweet. She bought two and ate one on the car during our trip home.

She fell asleep. Poor her. It's 9.30pm and she has been actively running here and there with my little cousin at my aunt's place earlier.

Bintulu trip

I finally arrived in Bintulu a couple of days ago. This is my first time here :)

It's a city I thought was smaller, but what I found surprised me. Ok laa..memang katak bawah tempurung okay.. Ehhe

Anyway, I have a kursus here. I am the urusetia and also one of the lecturer.

Hm, ya, you heard right. Me. Giving a talk. Pffftt.

We stayed at the Kemana Hotel, a new one in an area full of small shops. i loved it. there's Secret recipe, ipohtown, sugarbun, san francisco coffee within walking distance. hm, why did i mention foods only? hm...

i am at the 5th floor. Gayat eh...~

This is my second time giving a talk, the first one being in Kuching. This time the crowd is smaller. A mere 71 compared to the previous crowd of almost 250. So you can say I gave a pretty good talk on my job scope. No trembling, and slightly longer than the one I gave in Kuching. Who would've thought of that? Hah!

Anyway, the 2 days course was ok and went smoothly. And oh, the caterer gave us great food! I had 2 helpings of everything! Demm!

For dinner we went to seribu bintang restaurant and I had nasi lalapan ayam tandoori. Not so good and I can even see the red coloring even from a table away. And the serving was OMG, enough to feed 2 grown people.

But my colleague seem to think otherwise because the boy finished everything on hiss plate haha.

The kursus finished today and we got positive feedback except for some people wanting us to provide them accomodation which not be done in the near future as we are on a pretty tight budget, hence the mini auditorium at the library that could house up to 180 people at one time.

And to end today's session, my staff took the stage, blasted a song from his handphone and sang away like he's in a mini concert. Habis bising the mini audi tadi, da la dipisahkan dengan library with just a door ja .. Haha

Anyway, it's a great team. Very ringan tulang and helpful :) SO multitasking...hehehe

My Friday baking spree

Last Friday I went into a baking spree.

Made 2 types of cakes and 3 types of cookies.

Cakes :

I) Lemon butter cake
II) Super moist eggless choc cake

Cookies :

I) Double choc chips
II) Cheese choc chips
III) Pineapple tart

Started working on it at 9am and break for about an hour and then continued until 10pm.

it was worth it. the wonderful recipes are taken from the food blogs on my sidebar - love2cook and beachloverkitchen. fell free to browse :)

The cookies and cakes were hits especially the super moist choc cake.

Hilariously, my sis tried to bake it today and it turns out so keras my mum called it not a super moist cake but a super keras cake.

My bro was laughing his head off because when my sis tried to cut the cake, there were this 'kruk kruk' sound because the cake is sooo hard..haha..

My sister's resilience is not broken because she intends give it a second try and hope it turns perfect.

Tokyo street

You don't have to be in Japan to experience Tokyo street because you can experience the feeling of being in Japan at Pavillion.

it's a whole lot of little shops decorated ala Japanese shops. There's a variety of stuff sold-buns, unique cameras, decorations, foodstuffs and there's also the Daiso mart so you can get pretty much an idea of how would one shop in the streets of Japan, although not entirely the same experience.

That could also be an inspiration for those who has never thought of visiting Japan before.

I bought 3buns (the Loaf) and several stuff from Daiso. The things sold there are just too cute to be just ignored ;p

So what are you waiting for? Take a look at the Pavillion Tokyo Street and I think you'd at least go home with one stuff :)

Toilet bowl theme restaurant

Earlier today me and my hsemate Su and Kiera went for a shopping trip.

The day was fun but more interestingly we found a toilet bowl themed restaurant in sungei wang plaza.

Hm...the chairs are toilet bowls and the foods are presented in a toilet bowl shaped bowls.

It is understood that after eating and after our digestive bowel is done with it's job, the food will eventually end up in a toilet bowl. But the restaurant could've been more discreet about it.

I mean, even the ice cream is coloured in feces' color (OMG I'm sooo gonna throw up!!) served in a mini toiled bowl -_-'.

I dunno about you but don't expect me to take my lunch there anytime soon. If ever. More like never.

Anyway I was told that the restaurant actually has a great selection of food and is a big hit among it's fans.

*shudder*

Whatever.

Another day in Alamanda

I did promise myself to come again to Alamanda to buy the other bangle I was eyeing the day before, didn't I?

Well, I got it. Just now.

And I feel satisfied.

I used to not really interested in buying accessories before. Well, before I got married, specifically.

I'd rather spend my spare money on CDs. You can verify that fact with my bestie Melisa. She has been complaining ever since in secondary school that I should not spend my accumulated pocket money on CDs at the end of the month. She tried convincing me to turn my attention to clothes instead.

Ouh! I'm not so into the dress-up game so I just waved her off. Hehhee..

And now, pantang nampak bangles or rantai cantik sikit, terus geram mau membeli..uhuuu..

Maybe the Indian tradition is rubbing off on me. At the rate I'm buying these pretty little things, I'll have a box full of it in no time.

So I have decided that accessories' shopping is to be done when I visit KL ONLY.

Ok, that works fine for me.

Only problem is, once I start my shopping spree, I can hardly stop! Like today, I planned to buy ONLY the bangle but I ended up with several hair accessories to go with it.

Oh well, blame it on the sale they are having at the shop. Seriously, you can't just simply ignore the discount tags! You can't!! They are EVERYWHERE!! *alasan*

The good old days

..That's one of my favourite cantonese drama back when I was in high school, along with Remembrance. Best gila..!

But I'm not going to talk about any drama, but the place I had my tertiary education-UPM.

Been about 4 years since I graduated from UPM and I haven't set foot there since then.

I passed by it this evening when Kiera took the route to Mines from Maeps (which led us to an almost 2-hours traffic jam at the Seri Kembangan area).

I never specifically missed UpM but when I saw it just now, all memories came rushing back.

I remembered waiting for the shuttle buses after each lecture back to the dormitory. The yellow big bus in which I perfected my balancing skills since almost all the time I'll be standing up. And I don't mind it at all. It's where my friend Veron and I pretend that we were on a surfing board battling the fierce wave haha..

And I remembered the little chapel where me and my roommate spend our saturday evening in the congregation. I loved listening to the day's sermon by the priest.

And most of all I remembered staring at MrJ during his group's presentation during one of our class. We didn't know each other then :).

But I was attracted to the way he bring himself. He's a smiley person and I remember I always notice him in the mamak's stall, at the cafeteria, at the lecture hall and even when he was walking with his gf then. I remember thinking, 'what an adorable couple.' Hehehe...

He has been popping every now and then on my mind. But not in a romantic kind of way. He just have a way of sticking on my mind.

When he graduated-he's my senior- I remember feeling weird. It didn't occur to me that he has graduated, but not catching his shadow anywhere on campus made me realize that he's not there anymore.

And it felt weird. Not seeing him anymore.

But I got over it. I think.

Until the fated phone call I made to him asking about an interview he had gone to before. I have my friend, Ston to thank for giving me his phone number. Because it all started there. *smiles*

Oh, I think I have defeated the purpose of this entry. But then who cares, he's a part of my UPM memories, anyway ;p

I think I'll be making a visit to my beloved campus one of these days.

Home made choc ganache cake

Nah..I did not make this although I had hoped I made it myself..

It's my sis and mum's belated bday cake. Supposed to be a surprise cake but my sis insisted on tagging along when we went to collect the cake.

I ordered a very delicious moist cake with choc ganache and finished off with fresh cream on top.

OMG! Very the whoa..! I mean I had a visual of the cake in my head when I describe it to the baker, but what she did surpassed my expectation! The green 'grass' tasted orange-y and I loved it. Not too sweet for my mum's liking :).

If you want to check the baker out, just look out for simplyChantique profile on my facebook friends.

You won't be disappointed. She even sells rm10 1kg moist choc cake..without the deco of course. But you must hurry because it is a promotional item and it won't be around anymore come 1 January 2012!

So if you are in KK, you'd better make up some excuses to buy her cakes!

Selamat Merdeka Raya 2011

I'd like to wish all my Muslim friends especially Kiera who has been baking cookies these past few weeks and my buddies back in KK and my familes on my side and on my hubby's side a VERY BLESSED HARI RAYA CELEBRATION and HAPPY MERDEKA 2011!

My office has approved for those celebrating Raya tomorrow to go home early. But since the announcement will only be done this evening whether Raya falls tomorrow or the day after, if Raya falls tomorrow, there would be no changes in the half day leave. But if Raya falls on the day after tomorrow, the half day leave today stays, but the on Raya eve, they would have to work on a normal basis, that is 8 hours.

But anyway, I hope this year's celebration will be more meaningful than the previous years and Have A SAFE JOURNEY!

My sis in law is going to be married on the 31st August so, it would be quite impossible to go menziarah my office mates who have extended their invitations, but we'll try to sneak out and eat a kuih raya or two.

I just finished the book by John Grisham today.

John Grisham is definitely testing new waters with this book. It's somehow a new turf for him despite still trodding on his famous law genre. Theodore Boone -Theo - is his 13-year old eponymous hero who is torn between choosing to become a judge or a lawyer.

His parents are lawyers - tax and divorce lawyers respectively - and it's only natural for Theo to be raised being attracted to the courtrooms.

He's a little lawyer wannabe who once in a while helps his schoolmates with their problems - getting a dog out of captivity, giving advice on how to keep his friend's house over an overdue mortgage..etc..

It so happens that a boy from a shelter he helps out with his parents has a crucial information regarding an ongoing murder trial.

What is he supposed to do when nobody but he knows of the existence of a witness who is reluctant to give his statements because of his status as an illegal immigrant? How would he convince the Judge to stop the trial when the jury is sure to declare a murderer innocent?

A perfect murder would have been committed and he would never be re-tried for it..

Hm, curious? Then get a copy yourself! And no worries, there's no heavy courtroom drama in this book, which is suitable for those who doesn't want to deal on the courtroom war between the presecutor and the defense attorney.

And yes, he made his mind about whether to become a judge or a lawyer in the end.

My sis Yvonne just got an offer to do her Masters in UMS - Kajian survey herba tradisional sabah dan potensi toksikologi.

Not only that she got a double offer - after the Masters, she will straight away do her PhD because she graduated with a first class degree.

Hm...saya? Malas mau pikir actually but I don't want to wait till I'm older and otak suda nda dapat catch up with studies before taking my Masters. *serabut*

My mum's 51st Bday

Since I'm 1 hour and 45minutes away by air from my home in KK, I got my 2sisters to organize a little makan2 for the family.

It's satisfying to know that you can still share the important dates with your loved ones even if you're not present physically. I believe that it's the thought that matters.

And I'm a firm believer to this little saying, 'No matter how great that you have now, it will be pointless if you can't share it with anyone.'

I owe my success now to my mum who tirelessly never stopped believing in me and praying for me.

Feng sui

This big and beautifully designed house on the left is still in the market for sale despite the surrounding houses already occupied by their respective owner.

I wondered why.

Then I knew why nobody wants to buy it. Because it's main gate is facing a T junction which is bad feng sui.

Too bad.

But would the bad feng sui affect people who don't believe in it?

Hm, I wonder.

Would the developer sell it below the market price because of the unfortunate location?

I think they should..or the house will be occupied by 'the creature of other world'..

I used to love this Apollo stick wafer. It's a sweet chocolate filling wafer that melts in your mouth the moment you eat it.

There used to be 4 sticks in one pack. But now, it has become only 3.

And not only the the size has become smaller, the taste also has become worse.

I bought pack of 12 smaller packs yesterday and it tasted of burnt wafer. Come on, even if you're downsizing, please be consistent on the quality..

I have nothing against reclining chairs. In fact I love them. But not when someone recline it too much inside an airplane, hot juga la..

Please la, ko pun sedar tempat sempit, jan la recline sampai over ke belakang. Have a little bit of respect to the passengers behind you.

kadang-kadang time orang makan pun sibuk mau recline. Nasib baik la flight attendant suruh dia straighten up the seat for a while.

After abis makan, cepat ja dia recline balik.

Yes, I do recline my seat tapi just a bit sebab I know got someone at the back.

Ada juga budak2 sakai, baru mau take off suda dia kasi recline. Nda tau peraturan ka during take off and touch down seat has to be straight?

I love watching movies. When I was in Ptjy, I go to the cinema almost every week. Almost.

It's either with my housemate or my KSI buddies.

so when MBO was opened in Kch, I was beyond happy. At least I won't have a cinema withdrawal syndrome ;p

It's where mrJeevs and I go every once a month. At least I won't miss any of my favourite movies albeit the decreasing frequency.

For the record, I watched Avatar 7 times (twice in 3D), HP like a million times, spiderman also 7 times..I can say I seldom watch a favourite just once.

Heehhe..gila muvi..

But now I'd have to be considerate and avoid watching the same movie twice. *sigh*

Why?

Because I ride with mrJeevs to the cinema and takkanlah I take him to watch the same movie everytime p cinema kan..tunggu kereta sia siap maybe? ;p

Cyberjaya Friday Flea Market

I love this place. Especially the books sold and the home made brownies. Simply delicious. Perfect for a dessert after a scrumptious lunch. Hehehe

This is in cyberjaya. You should go and visit it. I often go there with my KSI fwens during the long Friday lunchtime.

Cyberjaya is well known for it's middle east and indian cuisine. So make sure you try any arabian meal. It's also serves in big portions. Kenyang .. Memang kenyang hehe.

As for an authentic indian cuisine, try the Indian Kitchen. Simply delicious. Nyum nyum! Hehehe

New old books

Last Friday, I joined joanne for a trip to Crowne Plaza for a book fair at the 4th level.

The banner said 'second hand books straight from the US.'

For a second hand book, the books sold were in good condition, so unlike our definition of second hand stuffs. Why I say that? Because most of the time, I found that when we say 2nd hand stuff, we pictured baju yang boleh buat kain lap lantai, buku koyak rabak etc etc.

I bought 4 books for myself for RM31.60 but paid RM66 after buying 5+1 free hard cover bedtime storybooks for my sis.

It's a good bargain. I bought books of authors I never bought before. the books are so cheap I thought I have nothing to lose. Heeehhehe

So now, I'm reading the 1st book about a traumatized little girl who fought the nightmare she encountered when he was 9 years old. There's no 'The times no1 bestseller' printed on the cover but what the heck, if it's a good read, then it's a good enough book for me :)

Project Auto

I am embarking on a project with mrJeevs I'd like to call Project Auto - the short form of Project Automobile.

It'll start next month - September hopefully.

Basically the project is about repairing my dad's old nissan car and transforming it into a new, sparkling nice little fast car for me. Hehehe.

I don't mind the fast part. I just want it to be up and running.

I loooove that car. It's made of hard metal that even the car that reverse into it end up dented.

And most importantly, it's my dad's car and I wouldn't want it to go to waste and become scrap metal. It has so many memories attached to him and I just can't picture myself driving any other car.

We have identified a workshop in Kolombong to do the bodywork. We visited it last Saturday and when I showed him a pic of the car, he was all excited.

For the record, there are only 2 such cars in Sabah and one in Labuan. So I kind of understand when more than 5 people had tried to offer a sum of money to my mum to buy it. But no money would be enough to make me part with the car.

Here's a pic of it and maybe I'll show some progress once in a while :)

My teacher my bully

That is not a drama title despite the name being familiar to the Korean movie I loved 'my tutor, my bully.'

This is a continuation to that story of the bully teacher in SK stella maris I wrote about in my previous post.

Seems like she only got a warning and a few days of leave as her punishment.

Now she's back to school with a vengeance.

After coming back to school after being asked to get some time off school, she become silent and refused to teach her students. Tunjuk perasaan la tu.

Then a few weeks later she started hitting her students again. This time she picks on Daniel, my sis' friend and whacked him with her log book. The hard covered book.

Daniel ended up with a benjol on the side of his head. Daniel didn't dare to tell his mother because the teacher from hell warned him,'don't tell your mother.'

So he kept his mouth shut and suddenly became silent from his cheerful self. On the second day after kena the benjol, only then the mum saw the benjol. The doctor who examined daniel advised her mother to lodge a police report but her mother doesn't have the means (camera, camera-enabled HP) to take a photo for evidence. So she kept silent hoping no such incident will recur.

My mum upon being told the incident by daniel's mom a few days later told her that she should've asked anyone who has a camera or a phone with camera to take the pic.

A few days later...

Daniel's mum went to the teachers' room to get an approval from his homeroom teacher to take daniel home and take him to be examined by a doctor because he has some slap marks on his cheek. (She knew cikgu rozina was responsible because she went asking his classmates and they confirmed that cikgu rozina has indeed slapped him a day before.)

On her way out, cikgu rozina bumped into her and she abruptly stopped and hugged daniel's mum and apologized for slapping daniel. 'I know he's just a kid but he kept talking loudly in the class and I lost my cool. I slapped her.'

Daniel's mum froze. The teacher actually confessed hitting daniel a second time. She must've thought she went to the teachers' room to complain.

She was furious and the teacher kept apologizing. She warned the teacher that another bruise mark on his son, she would go straight to the police.

But I bet we that won't be the last of it. She will keep hitting and slapping unless she is slapped with some disciplinary action.

Perdana Park, Tg Aru, Sabah

It's that time of the month again :)

No, not THAT women monthly thing..hehe.. But our monthly visit to KK.

This time we went to fetch Geetha, Jeev's cousin and had dinner.

After a moderately satisfactory meal, we went to Perdana Park after that for a walk.

Parking fee varies on the type of vehicle and is charged on an hourly basis.

We were in there for an hour and was charged 50sen. It's RM1 for the next subsequent hours, paid upon exit.

The park is just perfect. You can go there to jog, accompany your children to play or just lounge around having a drink.

There's some kind of 'air pancutan berirama' kind of thing. My little got a little too close and had like a pail of water poured unto her.

At first she was like,'haya..!' But then, she got excited and purposely stood there when the water came.

It's a must go place if you're around the city or even take a visit on weekends if you're living outside of the KK area. You can go to the beach first and then to the park to walk or run the food you've just eaten at the beach off.

Enjoy the pics!

I'm definitely going again tomorrow for a run? A walk maybe. Hehe

I was thankful for the half month bonus announced by the Govt.

Ya la, daripada tiada..kan lagi bagus at least half month..dapat juga sia beli extra head band sereni & shentel for my sis-in-law's wedding dinner..ekekekek..

I wasn't hoping for any bonuses. Bukan apa, takut high hopes, kalau nda dapat kan free-free jatuh crashing ke bumi..Bukan senang-senang ba mau bagi 2months salary mcm yang dimau tu..banyak aspek kana ambil kira..

Ini la ba ni manusia, nda akan puas sampai bila-bila..Kalau urang mimang mau cari silap, apa-apa yang dibuat akan nampak salah..

Apa bley buat, kita nda dapat kasi puas hati semua urang..

Today marks an important event in my office.

We are certified under the MS ISO 9001:2008!

well, not officially..yet..that will have to wait until the next month for a proper ceremony of handing over the certification. *grins*

Although the process of getting this certification was started 3 months before I set foot into this office, I am proud to be a part of the team and I am thankful of having a team of dedicated officers who never complained about the continuous days of so doing many amendments, the long day of revising the procedures, labelling of the files, compiling evidents, etc etc...

I'd like to congratulate the teams who by now has transferred to other departments/agencies -> En Azmi, Pn Alim, Wahyuni who prior to my involvement was the one responsible of heading the project, Chief Wellda and Cik Jantna, who I think, without them, I would be crying sturang-sturang buat dis kerja which eventually will lead to failure.

And the present team -> Pn Zailatul Shima, En. Sulaiman, Pn Edawaty who has been helping with the last minute preparation prior to the 2nd visit by the certification body.

Without your commitment, there would be no certification! Thank You!

And finally, to the members of the staff, the whole 60 people, thank you for your co-operation and this success is ours.

Malaysia vs Singapore

Last week when kiera and renny told me that they will be going to stadium negara bukit jalil to watch the world cup qualifying match between Msia and Spore on the 28th July, I wished I could join them.

Prior to this, the only matches I ever interested to watch were the world cup's teams - Argentina and Italy.

Fate has it that I were to go to KL for a kursus from 27 - 28 July and coincidently a friend renny's hubs has an extra ticket!

What luck! Renny offered the ticket to me. I accepted it, of course! Hehe

I had no yellow or blue shirt so I settled with my brown jersey.

Started the drive from home (car pooling with Kiera and hubs) at 6pm and arrived in Bt Jalil via MEX highway in about 20minutes but the road was jammed from the traffic light heading to the stadium.

Renny and hubs, albeit starting their journey from home later than us, arrived earlier because they travelled by a motorcycle.

The road was packed and cars were starting to park as far as 2-3km from the stadium.

Thankfully, we got a space to park the car (in front of a traffic light, but who cares, everybody's doing the same) a little after 7pm.

We walked about 800m to the stadium and a wave of people clad in yellow and blue jersey swarmed to the direction of the stadium.

Somewhat I felt proud. 85K people of various races, religion, politic point of view and age came together for one cause - to support the national team - Harimau Malaya.

There were lots of stalls at the stadium's compound selling foods, drinks, jerseys, muffler, the vuvuzela kind of thing that I found so irritating. I swear that thing can deafen you!

Found ourselves 3 ideal seats at about 8pm after failing to locate Renny and hubby.

Turns out they were sitting at the Singapore fans seat. Haha. Sesat ;p

Tp be honest, that was the FIRST TIME I ever watch a match LIVE at a stadium. Biasanya di rumah, sambil2 cuci kain la, buat Milo la, or ambil biskut.

The feeling is different. What more, with 84,999 others (or more), the atmosphere is one of a kind. I feel somewhat patriotic and I got goosebumps when we sang the National Anthem and the stadium roared with us.

And when the 1st goal by Safee Sali was made, whoa!! The 'WAAAAHHH!!!!' was unbelievable! I found myself jumping up and down with hands on the air and voices on top of my lungs screaming!

My throat was sore but I kept on screaming my support. Haha.

Yes. The result was 1-1, marking the end of the national team for the 2014 Brazil World Cup's journey.

But fear not! There is always next time.

We might have lost the game, but we never lost the fighting spirit. And we have a very capable goalkeeper in Khairul Fahmi.

I never saw Safee Sali apologizing at the end of the match, nor did I see Datuk Rajagopal walking out to the field and appreciated each and every fan for the undivided support. But I saw a very promising malaysian team that could advance in a higher level with a little bit of polishing. They have the spirit, and they have the skill for that.

I am now officially a fan of the Harimau Malaya, and I will support them in times of ups and downs.

Never lose hope! Never lose faith!

And I hope I won't catch a flu tomorrow. My throat is sore from screaming too much. :)

Never mind. It's for a good cause, anyway.

This is one of the famous local ice cream brand here in Swk.

Sunny Hill - named after the school with the same name.

You can have it in a bowl, sandwiched between 2 slices of bread and even take away in a large polystyrene bowl.

They have different 'flavour of the day.' On most days, you'll get to eat the vanilla or the strawberry flavour. Chocolate - my fave is so rare I have tasted it only once.

If you are anywhere near Kch, do try this specialty and enjoy it yourself.. :)

Tomorrow will be the 3rd return trip to KL this month. Every week, for the past 2 week I have been attending meetings for 2days respectively.

Good for my Enrich point but bad for my mood. And I am feeling tired from the trips that I feel compelled to apply for leave the next day. For the record, I still have 23 days left this year. I'll be able to make up for the zeroes for GCR last year.

One of the perk living where your loved ones lives.I got to save up on my cuti.

Heehe.

Anyway, thinking about tomorrow morning trip and straight to the office for the meeting does make me cringe. What's more, I am in that time of the month so that doubles up my cringiness (is that a word? ;p)

*long sigh* wat to do. SYMP. At least I got to have a McD breakfast tomorrow hehe.

P/s : the brownies or should I say cuppies in the pics are my favourite dessert everytime me and my former colleagues had our friday lunch in Cyberjaya. I managed to get my hands on them last Friday during my 2nd trip to KL.

A mango as big as a pinapple

My parents in law went for a weekend trip to the northside of the country and found a large sized mango in Bukit Kayu Hitam.

It's a Thailand mango. Hm, I have my reservations because you can't trust the Thais with these crops 100%.

Why?

Well, first of all they are not opposed to GMOs (genetically modified organisms) and their level of pesticide usage is questionable.

I'm an agri student so I should know better than to trust them especially with things that goes inside my stomach. Cewaah..

So don't get too excited with large fruits. It's better to buy the Malaysian chokanan which is slightly smaller but is 100% quality product :)

The thai mango is unbelievably large, as you can see in the picture. Almost as big as an average sized pineapple and almost 3 times larger than the local mango.

Would you eat it?

Last month the office held a lunch to celebrate our colleague who got transferred to the HQ in KL.

I was a newbie and had just been working with her for 6 months but I came to know that she's dedicated, hard working and meticulous in every task entrusted to her.

She's a friend and a teacher.

We are going to miss her.

We also celebrated the birthdays of the member of the staff and sponsored the cake as a token of appreciation.

It was a fulfilling lunch and work resumed at 2pm half heartedly.

*a full stomach after 2pm is so sleep inducing*

The no-HP day

Today was supposed to be my movie day-Harrry Potter to be exact- with Renny and Su at TGV Cheras Selatan.

But then, fate has it that today my hp would be left at home. Can you imagine that? I am meeting someone and I left my hp on the bed. How am I supposed to call her then?

Well, I made it a point to arrive earlier than Renny at the mall and wait in front of the cinema so she won't miss me.

Alas, everything decided to go wrong today. Of all days, it chooses TODAY. I am so pissed.

Here's the story.

1. Left home with Su at 11am.

2. Contemplated on using the U42 rapidKL bus + any bus to Jusco Cheras Selatan. Decided against it and took the ERL + LRT + taxi to the mall.

3. Should've taken a taxi from the Bandar Tasik Selatan station to the mall but chose to board the LRT to Cheras upon the ticket assistant's advice. I had a bad feeling about that advice but went with it, anyway. Bad move.

4. Boarded a taxi at Cheras station to Jusco. The driver said, there are 2 jusco in Cheras - Maluri and Mahkota Cheras. I told him there's another one - Cheras Selatan. He argued that Mahkota Cheras IS Cheras Selatan. Zipped my mouth because I thought a taxi driver should know the place better right? I know now - not necessarily.

5. Arrived at jusco Mahkota Cheras and noticed that it was different. And it feels wrong. Just about to climb on the taxi back to the right jusco but the driver has zoomed away. Cis! And it's 1.10pm. Tried to be positive and told su that there should be a taxi around there and we'd be in Cheras Selatan in no time.

Boy, I was soooo wrong. It's 1.30 and NOT a single taxi to pass the bus stop we are stranded in.

6. A bus approached. U41 - Sungai Long - KL it says. I remembered that I've seen the bus passing Jusco Cheras Selatan before. I thought moving is better than sitting at the bus stop hoping for a taxi to pass by. So I asked the driver,'to Cheras Selatan?' and he nodded. So we boarded the bus. 1.50pm. Damn!

7. 5 minutes on the bus, a bad feeling sunk in. It's making its way to a housing area. Deeper and deeper until we saw 'selamat datang ke Bandar Sungai Long.' By then, I've given any hope of getting to Cheras Selatan within 30 minutes. turns out the driver has been listening to the music on his earphone and he probably never heard me asking before.

8. The bus stopped and we were asked to take the bus in front of us if we were headed to KL. OK, turun lagi.. 3 buses on the roadside and all U41.

9. The bus belum ada driver so we went looking for a shop to get some water. And the hope of getting a taxi. Not a single one to be seen.

10. Went back to the roadside and boarded the U41. 2.10pm. All hope of reaching our destination on time definitely gone. i was literally crossing my fingers that Renny will watch the movie without us and not wait for our arrival. And hope that she's not mad. If only I could remember her hp number. With the phone book function in any handphone made that quite difficult to do. All I could remember is Renny and Kiera's email. But I would need at least a PC to send an email.

11. Am frustrated by the minutee. But the house designs in Bandar Sg Long did keep me from further frustation. I felt like I was in Bukit Tinggi. The houses were big and beautifully designed.

12. Finally reached Jusco Cheras Selatan at 2.30pm but what's the point, right? At that rate, we definitely couldn't watch the movie. There's about an hour left of it anyway. And waiting outside the cinema for Renny to come out at about 3.30pm would not be a wise decision because we couldn't be sure she'd be able to spot us, and vice versa.

13. I want sooo badly to watch Harry Potter on the same day as Renny and Kiera so I decided to watch it TODAY by hook or by crook. So, we decided to stay on the bus and go to KL to watch the movie. Considering all the cinema would be fully booked today, I gambled CAPS square, where a full house at its cinema is a rarity.

14. Slept in the bus and woke up at about 3.30pm when the bus got stuck in a jam at Pudu Prison. Wow! A whole one hour in a bus. Restraining myself from getting agitated.

15. The bus finally stopped at Plaza Rakyat station at about 4pm and we took the LRT to Masjid Jamek station to CAPS square.

16. The mall was deserted and I was right, the 6.15 show is still half empty. So, we did manage to watch the movie today.

17. 8.30pm headed home and sampai rumah at 10.30pm.

PHEW!

I apologize to Renny for the troublesome day today. You must be wondering mana kami pigi. Huhu..

And we will definitely still buy the tickets k? Hehe. Not fair for you kalau kami nda bayar..hehehe..

First timer

My bro. First time staying full time in a hostel.

He was cool about it but I kno nervous juga tu. Hehe. Well, who's not. Staying quite a distance away from home surrounded by strangers is nerve wrecking. More so if the language seems quite unlike what we heard in our everyday life for the past 19 years.

Went there by taxi from the hotel. I learned that the place is reachable by train and a bus quite easily.

Next time I'll get to save my money from the travel to his hostel.

We bought along 6 bags + 1 big tote bag to the hostel. As you can see in the picture, his luggage could last him for a whole semester! Banyak gila eh..

Anyway, we checked out his dorm room and he'll be sharing the space with 3 others and another 2 in the room next door. The dorm is like a small cute house for a family of 3 or even 4. There's a shower and a toilet and a small kitchenette. There's a living room space that has 6 study table.

Very comfortable.

But the downside is : no electrical appliances other than the iron. Other stuff would have to be paid monthly.

Overall, it's a nice place and my bro should be able to enjoy his 2years there despite the distance from the airport if he were to balik kampung and back to college.

Inside the D.U.N building

Here's some pictures of the building inside (the 9th floor-public gallery). There was a policeman sitting opposite the main entrance to the public gallery. It's where people besides the ahli dewan sit and witness the proceeding.

The policeman (with unsmiling face) grunted, "henfon tinggal."

I ignored him.

"henfon, tinggal. tidak boleh bawa masuk dalam." DUH! I don't like the idea of parting with my handphone. More so with a stranger. Policeman or not, I am not giving it away. Period.

Thankfully I have the pass to the 8th floor so off I went and to my relief there were no policeman making rounds. Phew!

Had the opportunity to attend the 17th swk DUN officiating ceremony by the Head of State last week.

So that was the 1st trip to the newly opened new building for the persidangan.

It's beautifully built and it is one of the new landmark for visitors to the state.

Enjoy some of the procession of the officiating ceremony.

Been so malas to update my blog lately for lack of pictures to post.

I like posting pictures. Nice beautifully taken pictures. But since one of my DSLR lense has been broken and in need of repair, my taking picture sessions has fallen dramatically.

I miss taking a snap.

Capturing something in a real camera is different from taking a pic using my phone. The feel is different. Uhuuu

Anyway, the pineapple in the picture just screams for attention because of it's XXL size. I forgot to put something beside it for comparison. But it's H-U-G-E!

Next week will be the final week for my timbalan at the office. Dunno whether there'll be a pengganti ASAP..but I do hope there is!
